![]() ![]() John Ambulance and it would be reported as a great thing for kids to do. The mistake was the location, saturday afternoon in a sports centre with parents, bottles of pop, sandwiches and the smelly woman from the St. A cage makes it look brutal but is much less likely to hurt that a 4 foot fall onto concrete or into a wall. (Of course I could always add a riser later if I am smart and make sure that's doable in relation to the rest of the design. In reply to rallymania: completely agree with your points and i too must have a low moral ethic. But a riser looks cool.and maybe someday I'll change my mind about recliners and then having a riser will be handy. Technically, sitting in a counter height chair at a counter height bar should afford an unobstructed view without a riser. My dilemma is whether to build that second row with a riser. Plus, this will offer MORE space than a row of recliners, so on those rare occasions we have a full house, there will be more seating than if we had a second row of recliners. I suspect the wife and I will use that pretty regularly when we bring dinner into the theater.and then move into the front row after we finish eating. So for my next theater, I'll make it big enough for a second row.but just put a counter height bar with counter height chairs there. About twice a year we had enough people that we needed the second row. ![]() Again, not ideal and would be used for overflow only.Ĭlick to expand.Yep, this! Our second row in our last theater got used about one a month at most, and then it was just one friend who liked to sit there because the subs were more tactile on the riser. How would you get to this back row you ask? the chair that has both fixed arms (red in the attached) I have put carpet sliders on the bottom and this allows the chair to be pulled out very easily. The main reason im thinking of this is because the carpet I am looking at is not cheap and it would pain me to want the riser later on.Ģ) instead of a riser look for some comfortable (if they even exist) 28-30" bar chairsģ) do nothing stick with the 4 chair design! there is 4' 9" behind the chairs, enough room for a couch or traditional flip down movie chairs, leaving 12" or more gap to the wall. yes, the audio wont be ideal in the two outside seats but I don't think I'll hear much complaining and my seat will be great!ġ) build a 12" riser wall to wall behind the recliners before I have carpet installed. the primary use of the room 99% of the time will be the front 4 recliners which is why I designed it this way so that all household members had a front row sit with no arguing. This second row will be for overflow seating only, grandparents come over, kids friends, etc. if I ever want/need a riser back there, ever, now is the time. After thinking about this a bit more since I am going to replace the carpet. I recently posted in my build thread that I would have a single row of 4 in my new theater. ![]()
